Meet the LGCS Student Assistants

What is a Department Student Assistant? 

Every academic department at Pomona College has student assistants, who serve as intermediaries between students and faculty when there are important issues to be communicated back and forth. Student assistants also assist with department intellectual and social life in various ways, assisting with events, putting on their own events, and providing academic and social guidance to new majors in the department.

Who are the current Student Assistants? 

  Sasha Feldman

I’m Sasha, a senior at Pomona majoring in Cognitive Science with a concentration in neuroimaging methods. I’m interested in cognitive science research and am also considering a career in law, particularly intellectual property law and neurolaw. Outside of class, I love hiking, running, skiing, singing, pickleball, and basically anything outdoors! Feel free to reach out to me with any questions!

Nevenka Bollini

Hi! I’m Nevenka and I’m from Seattle, WA and a senior at Scripps! I am a Cognitive Science major with a minor in Linguistics, and my concentration is in Symbolic & Cognitive Architecture. Outside of academics, I love oil painting, learning how to surf, and traveling (30 countries!). Please feel free to reach out any time or to say hi!

Aria Wang

Aria Wang (PO ’27) is a linguistics major who is also minoring in data science and music. Her core interests lie in phonetics, particularly concerning prosody, tone, and how we perceive and produce them. Her other interests within linguistics include L2A phonetics, queer linguistics, and morphosyntax. Outside of the LGCS department, she also regularly performs on the violin in various settings, from solo performance to chamber and orchestra.”

Hi, my name is Izzie, and I’m a junior from Scripps majoring in Cognitive Science. Around campus I’m involved in the Scripps Student Investment Fund, and a coordinator for the Asian American Sponsor Program. In my free time I enjoy reading, crafting or watching a good film!
